Challenge day 9 : Actually wear the hat you claim you can’t pull off.

Ok, so I absolutely adore hats….on other people!
I have bought a few hats, just for them to be thrown over a bed post or stuffed to the back of the wardrobe.
I always wear a straw trilby type hat in the summer and on holiday but that is about as adventurous as I get
. I bought this hat that I am wearing about 2 weeks ago because I thought it matched my new coat perfectly and promised myself that I would wear it. I haven't until today.
So I bit the bullet and went for it. I must admit I felt quite “regal”for some reason, maybe because in an old fashioned mind set I always associate winter hats with rather wealthy folk! So feeling quite proud of myself for being brave, one last look in the mirror and I grabbed my bag to waltz out of the door when my 7yr old fell about laughing saying “Mum what are you doing you look like Indiana Jones” ……All illusions duly shattered!!!

Have a great weekend.

Tomorrow is “Mix high end with something under £100” come and see what I choose.

Take care

Challenge day 8: Wear something you haven’t worn in 6 Months.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy! Of course living in the glorious United Kingdom this is not a problem. With a summer wardrobe tucked away until warmer days there are many items I have not worn for 6 months.
I really enjoyed having a good ole’ route through my summer clothes and was reminded that SS13 was  a good year.  Bring on the sunshine!
So as there is still a little nip in the air I choose a summer jacket which is from The Kooples and I have matching shorts also but not only is the whether not ready for them neither are my legs… Yikes! few more trips to the gym I think.
The jacket has a beautiful floral/lace pattern and is in a summery version of monochrome colours.
I have taken a close up of the pattern , it is really pretty.
Teamed with a simple white T and ripped black jeans (again) it is a perfect tran-seasonal outfit, nudging towards spring but still warm enough for now.
What summer item are you looking forward to wearing? There are many I have re-discovered today, all we need now is to feel the warmth on our skin……ahhhhh! Not long now hopefully.

Have a great evening.

Take care

Challenge day 7: Focus on your jewelry.

Being a bit of a magpie and zooming in on all things glittery I knew what jewelry I was going to wear for this challenge.
I was bought this necklace at Christmas and absolutely love it. It has all the elements I like in jewelry it has sparkle in red, purple and dark grey crystals, it has gold chains and spikes and looks great with a casual or smart outfit. Today I wore it with a tartan t-shirt and blue jeans and it really stands out and is the main part of the outfit.
I have also worn my Hermes bracelets which as you have probably noticed I wear a lot. Buying them in black and white they go with everything and are a really classic design. I also wore a Micheal Kors belt bracelets which stacks nicely with the Hermes ones.
The ring I choose was a Dominic Jones black claw ring which is so easy to wear for a big ring, the claw curves perfectly to your finger so you avoid stabbing your children while getting them ready!

The best jewelry I have though is a pack of multi-coloured studs that my eldest son who has been seriously ill (Heartbreak, Hopes and Dreams ) bought me at Christmas with his own money and chosen completely by himself. I have worn a pair every day since Christmas, and even though there are some stunning earrings out there sometimes sentiment overrides fashion and trends.

Take care

Challenge day 6: Wear the item you’ve been “saving"

I had the perfect item to wear for this challenge, I purchased this in the sale and have been hoping for a “kid free” opportunity to wear it. Kid free, because it is silk and cream…need I say more but three year olds and sticky fingers are not great when wearing said item. So with Charlie over his Chicken Pox and back at nursery and my other two boys back at school, a nice shopping day with my mum was on the cards and so was wearing my precious new cream Equipment shirt.
After a lovely morning of coffee’s and shopping , we went to lunch and while I was rabbiting on a little piece of smoked salmon slid off my knife and slap bang onto the middle of my shirt...AGHHHHH!!
So even kid free, I managed to get some grease onto it. Note to self :”Use your napkin”!

I wore it with black ripped jeans (AGAIN, sorry but I love them) and my slip-ons ( AGAIN, sorry but I love these too) and my black structured Jacket ( AGAIN , sorry but its a wardrobe staple)

So there you have it a long awaited outing of a cream blouse, ruined within a couple of hours. I knew there was a reason for me owning a lot of black. #clumsy.

Hope you like it anyway in it’s pre-salmon incident state.

What have you got hidden away , just waiting for that special moment?
If you are anything like me  (and I know you are) there will be plenty of things in your wardrobe just waiting to come out at appropriate times… and “No, I’ve had this ages” and “I got it ages ago in the sale” will probably be spilling from your lips when your husband/boyfriend asks…."IS THAT NEW”!!

Tommorows challenge is “Focus on your Jewelry”

Take care

Challenge day 5 : Change up your handbag.

Change up your handbag!….not a problem for me, I am a sucker for bags and have collected some rather nice ones along the way. I always ask for a nice bag at Christmas and my husband is now very well trained in the handbag selecting department! The new shiny handbag at Christmas usually is my bag of choice up until about September, then I will dust the others off for an airing. My new Chloe bag was glad of a rest today.
So today's challenge was great for me and I couldn't think of a better bag to show you than my Alexander McQueen fold over clutch bag. It is the roomiest of my clutch bags because it opens up to twice the size and you can get everything needed in it, even for the day time.
It is a gorgeous bright orange with the McQueen gold skull lock on the front. The pictures don't really do the colour any justice so I have put on a few in different lighting for you to get the idea.
Along with this lovely clutch bag I always fetch out my bright neon orange Louboutins, I think these have to be my favourite shoe ( although I probably say that about them all) but this shoe looks amazing in the summer with nice brown feet and summery outfit.
I also teamed it with my black ripped knee jeans , Alexander McQueen vest top and Topshop black waterfall jacket.
Its great that the weather is warming up a bit and the lighter clothes are coming out!
Hope you like today's look,. What are you looking forward to wearing now the weather is better?

Tomorrows challenge is……. Wear the item that you have been “saving”. Pop by and see what I wore.

Take care

Challenge Day 4 : Boyish Look.

The 30 day “Who What Wear” challenge is going well and fortunately for me has so far fitted into my routines of different daily goings on!
Today as most of you will know is usually our family day at a lovely local restaurant, but with little Charlie still covered in spots (chicken Pox) , it was family time at home instead. I did how ever manage to nip out for a meeting with a website designer in the morning, so today's outfit challenge of a “boyish look” wasn’t too hard.
I have a cream loose fit boyfriend blazer which is definitely a boyish boxy shape and teamed with a round collared black blouse was my take on this look.
I didn't go for the obvious boyfriend jeans, because lets face it although they are called "boyfriend jeans” I have yet to see a boyfriend/husband, boy or man in cuffed, ripped, baggy jeans! So I went for a skinny(ish) straight dark jean and wore my ever faithful black croc slip-ons.
What would your take be on a “boyish look”?
Hope you like the look , tomorrows look is “Change your handbag” so pop by to see which bag I choose…

Take care

Challenge Day 3 : Go BIG or go home!

I am really loving the 30 day challenge and I am getting quite excited every night deciding what to wear. Today was no exception and I loved the challenge of “Go big or go home” . Think baggy boyfriend clothes.
So my interpretation was to wear my baggy Asos ripped denim boyfriend jeans an over sized white all saints T-shirt and my big and beautiful Sophie Hulme coat, finishing with my large Gucci bag.
Thank goodness this day fell on a Saturday because it is definitely a weekend relaxed look.

I can not talk enough about this coat which is now a massive 75% off at www.my-wardrobe.com , even though the temperatures are warming up it is a definite investment for next winter and such a warm and stunning coat. I adore the contrast blue fur lapels it makes it stand out from your run of the mill winter coats and really makes you feel fab. It certainly changes a jeans and white T combo into something a bit more special.
I have chosen the best pics and I apologise for the tired looking face, Charlie's chicken pox are at the healing, itchy, scratchy keep you awake all night stage and Mummy is surviving on limited sleep!
I hope you are enjoying the 30 day challenge posts and wonder whether it has changed your outfit choices over the last few days. I hope it has given you some different ideas.

Tomorrow is “Try a boyish look”……pop by to see what I wore.

Please leave a comment of what you think I love reading and receiving feedback :)

Take care

Challenge Day 2: Mix two textures into a look.

Well its day 2 of the “Who What Wear 30 day Challenge” and I am already having to think about what I might wear the night before.
Todays challenge is to mix two or more textures into a look so I decided on leather and textured jacket.
This shift dress from The Kooples is loose fitting and has a leather piece at the bottom which looks like a skirt. It’s so versatile and looks great even worn over jeans which I normally do. Today however I wanted a more “dressy look” and so I wore it with thick opaque tights and black suede wedge ankle boots. This I thought looked great and really comfortable, until I saw the pictures and it looks a lot shorter than it feels!!! I am hoping that I got away with it though as I was wearing thick tights…. What do you think?
The textured boules biker Jacket is from Zara and I fell in love with it when I saw it but havent worn it until today. Its one of those items that you love and yet cant seem to put it with anything.
I even went one step further and put on some textured nails by Umberto Giannini, black matt with a signiture nail of studs.

Tomorrow is “Go big or go home” and I have the perfect coat for it!

Until Tomorrow

Take care

Who What Wear 30 day Challenge begins… Day 1

Firstly apologies for the lack of posts the last few days but as I have mentioned on twitter my little boy Charlie is covered head to toe in Chicken Pox, so I haven't ventured out until today when my husband has taken over, so I could get out for the day. I do get cabin fever if I cant go out and about for a few days.
So today seemed like the perfect day for me to start the Who What Wear 30 day challenge. As I read through the days it really did make me think of mixing up outfits, trying new ideas and introducing different textures and colours into my outfits. Unfortunately the first day was probably the hardest one of all for me: WEAR A BRIGHT COLOUR COMBO.
Keeping an eye on what people wear and colours they choose, I have seen many colour combo’s but the one that I love the most is the cobalt blue and bright orange one. It really is a wow factor combo and to be honest I felt great in that much colour.( Shock horror)
I wore my Zara trouser suit and teamed it with a gorgeous silk shirt from Equipment. My orange Mulberry bag was a must as well …and there you have it Day 1 of the challenge done!
Hope you like it.
What is your favourite colour combo? Let me know, I could get used to it!

Pop by tomorrow to see Day 2 …

Take care

Red soles and goals.

Hi Folks,
Hope you are all having a great weekend. Valentines is over for another year and I was spoilt and wined and dined so no complaints over here!
The weather however had a different agenda and I had a quick change of outfit from my lovely McQueen dress into Paige skinnies and Missoni jacket. I didn't fancy battling with my hem line in the wind with the potential of an awkward moment when your dress flies up over your head.
This jacket was such a massive sale bargain and I think looks great for evening or day. The detail is lovely and the shape timeless so I know I will be wearing it a lot.
I also got the chance to wear my lovely sparkly Louboutins which add that bit of evening glamour to almost any outfit. The pictures are only i-phone pics so it is difficult to see the details, but I have tried to put a selection on so you get the idea.
I am really loving the pictures on Twitter and Instagram from the bloggers at London Fashion Week.
One of my goals for my blog is to be able to go next year, it would be my idea of heaven and is something that really keeps me inspired to keep blogging and providing interesting outfit posts and to build my audience.
What are your goals for this year? and are you on track?
Hope you all manage to achieve great things. Hard work and a bit of look seems to be the key!

Take care

Valentines “ Ultimate” Wish list.

Ok, so here it is my “ Ultimate” Valentines wish list, which is my wish list if money was no object and includes items that I would only dream off … Materialistic , Yes, but its day dreaming at its finest!

I would start with my dream jewellery, which would have to be the Cartier “Love” bracelet, great name for a valentines present, and a beautifully crafted piece which you would never tire of.

Cartier Love Bracelet….. (sigh)

Next on my ultimate wish list would have to be a Chanel boy bag, I love the Chanel quilted bags but I think they have to be the most copied bag around, and dare I say it , but with so many fakes around it has brought down the desirability ( for me anyway) as with the monogram Louis Vuitton bags.
Many years ago I had a copy Rolex watch and someone said to me that if you have a copy of something you desire, then you will never acquire the real thing, as your subconscious mind already thinks you own it… weird you may think but it has worked for me. I threw away the copy Rolex and within 8 months I had the most amazing Rolex watch for Christmas. I am a big believer in “Thoughts Become Things” ( I have TBT tattooed on my wrist). What you think about you bring about, good or bad.
So putting these items in my thoughts and on goal boards I hope to have them in the future.
Watch this space the Chanel boy bag is next on my “goal” board.

The next on my dream list is a Alexander McQueen Dress. I am lucky to own one already a black structured beauty, and I love the feel of the amazing cut they have. I would really love a red carpet show stopping dress and in my eyes, McQueen are the best at these. I adore the embellishment and details on the shoulders. I have a McQueen vest top with the gold embellishment and the detailing is exquisite. This is my ultimate ideal red carpet dress.

No “Red carpet “ look would be complete without a pair of Louboutins and I love these sparkly gold ones. No words needed… Just “YES”.

So there you have it. My “ULTIMATE” Valentines wish list.

I know there is no cliche red underwear and chocolates.. but please, Girls dream big!!!!

Take care

The Game Changer Scarf

I always think that a scarf can completely change an outfit and when I am always wearing monochrome or neutral colours, a scarf is a way of mixing it up a bit and adding interest to an outfit.
Today I wore my uniform colours of black and ….no not white or cream but a very light grey!
So I decided to wear my gorgeous “Versace look” scarf that I got last year from M&S.
I love this scarf and its perfect mix of black, white and a rich goldy yellow. It has the design and look of a really expensive scarf and when you put it on it really makes you feel special.
It is one of those items in your wardrobe that no matter when and where you wear it, it always gets compliments.
I am also getting a little obsessed with my black Kurt Geiger slip-on’s and on my radar next are the leopard print ones. They can be worn even in this weather and still make you feel that you are leaning into spring, breaking free from the winter boots without having blue toes.

With skinny jeans always on the menu, I thought I would shock you and have worn some DKNY trousers. They have lovely detail of leather patches on the inside of the knees and leather trim on pockets and zips at the ankles, really versatile trousers easily dressed up and down. DKNY are one of my favourite designer clothes and the cut and detail always impresses me.

Hope you like my scarf. What item of clothing instantly makes you feel special?
Do you have a fail safe pick me up item? Let me know.

Tomorrow I will be posting my ultimate Valentines wish list.
Until then,
Take care

Amanda x
